Mother's Day Gift Guide: 10 Present Ideas

Mother's Day feels pretty significant this year given everything that's happened in the past twelve months. and whether you're looking for a gift for a partner or loved one, or if you just want to (deservedly) treat yourself, I've curated 10 beautiful present ideas from small female-run London businesses to give you some inspiration.

1: Studio Gingko

I'm a big fan of gorgeous jewellery and Studio Gingko absolutely fits the bill; their products are simple yet stylish and beautifully inspired by natural forms. Their backstory is also inspiring, as it was set up by London mother Lillia during the Covid lockdown to support her family. Their whole range is lovely but I've got my eye on this tusk pendant in particular.

2: Dwell Skin

As a big skincare addict, I love the ethos behind Dwell Skin, which has really made me stop and think. Based in South London, they have a unique focus on compassionate and gentle ageing and offer a range of treatments and tools around the Chinese practice of Facial Gua Sha. They are currently running a spring offer - with the purchase of any of the gorgeous CJB Gua Sha tools you will get a complimentary Zoom Awaken Gua Sha class with founder and London mother Hannah to learn how to use them safely and for the best results.

3: Teapro

I can't resist anything tea related, and there's a great selection at Teapro who are specialists in loose leaf premium teas from around the world including flowering tea, matcha and chai. They also currently have a Mother's Day offer available - if you enter the code 'flowerformum' at checkout you will receive a complimentary flowering tea gift with every Mother's Day order.

4: Dragons and Daisies

Dragons and Daisies are a small London based kidswear brand and I love their emphasis on infusing positive vibes into their pieces. Not forgetting the Mums, they currently have a specially curated Mother's Day Gift Hamper available featuring products from female-led, artisan businesses: a vegan candle, epsom salts, organic tea, 3-step facial, warrior mug, super soft beanie and a personalised message. Last order date for Mother's Day delivery is the 11th of March.

5: Mama Brown & Co

Mama Brown & Co is an online marketplace, magazine and network set up by London mum Kat dedicated to making parenting playful, no matter how tired you are - a message which certainly resonates with me at the moment! They have some lovely products for kids and parents alike, and for Mother's Day their Family Art Print, Rainbow Teething Necklace or Mother's Day Card are all gorgeous options.

6: Pattern Paper Scissors

For the crafty Mums out there, Pattern Paper Scissors was founded by London mama Becky after her daughter was born and helps you make sustainable choices for your children's clothing by offering PDF sewing patterns, sewing kits and fabrics. I absolutely love this Avery Romper Sewing Kit which provides everything you need to make an adorable romper for your little one in a range of gorgeous fabric choices.

7: Nettlefold

Nettlefold are based in Oxfordshire but I've snuck them in as the story behind their brand is just so beautiful. Founder Zoe was inspired by the notes and poems that her Grandfather wrote for her as a child to create a range of gorgeous nature influenced prints and products for children and grown ups alike, all featuring snippets from his books. I'm obsessed with pretty stationery and their 'Happiness' notebook would fit right in.

8: Robbins Candle Company

Robbins Candle Company are based in North London and make small batches of hand poured, eco-friendly soy candles in a range of beautiful, creative scents. Their wax melts are particularly luxurious, and would make a gorgeous present.

9: Gifted Local

Gifted Local are a North London online marketplace celebrating small businesses and helping people to shop locally. Founded by Crouch End mum Helen & Queens Park mum Florence who wanted an alternative to the big corporations for Christmas, they feature a range of gift options and offer hand delivery for certain areas, reducing their delivery miles. I'm a huge fan and if you browse their site you might even find some special photography packages from me on there!

10: Family Photography Session

If you're looking for something to really celebrate your family and the ups and downs of the past year, a family photography session could be a perfect gift. Not only are my photoshoots relaxed, joyful experiences in themselves, but the end product is gorgeous photos that can be kept forever. I work across London and offer beautifully wrapped gift vouchers for family, newborn, motherhood and maternity sessions through my gift voucher store. If you're looking for something bespoke, feel free to get in touch and we can have a chat - and don't forget I'm still running my baby offer which includes a complimentary family film for new and lockdown babies.
